The problem
The quickest way to compress an image is usually to upload it to a stranger's server. For anything with a face, a document or a client's work in it, that is a worse trade than most people realise they are making.
What I built
Canvas does the resizing and re-encoding on the device, so there is no upload, no queue and no server to trust. Plain HTML and CSS around it.
